Boroko Sports Fishing Club's 6kg team species competetion was run on Sunday the 27th with mixed results
Heavy rain saw a lot of fresh water in the reach & not much on the bite. However we did have winners & they are:
In first place, team rack n ruin with FOS & BC on board.
Second place went to Mick, Jason & Kerry on Boogaloo.
And third place going to Wally & Angela on Baby Sh-t Yellow with the biggest Barracuda seen in recent history.
We hear that Adrian & Lynne had a couple of fish & might have got themselves up into a winning position but a no show at the weigh in put a stop to that.
To round it off Team Kermit copped the NAFA with:
- A blown tyre that was unnoticed for a while resulting in a shredded donut.
- Misfiring outboard motor
- Faulty fuel line that kept popping off
- Missing wiring from a recently replaced battery
- Not getting out of home creek!
The haus was well used over the weekend; the septic was an issue with some localized flooding! We are trying to get this sorted. The committee would also like to remind users of the Haus that it is the responsibility of people using it to keep it clean whilst there & when they leave.
- Remove your unused food from the fridge & freezers
- Remove rubbish from inside
- Put the dishes away
- Clean up the mess made from Mozzie coils
- Flush the toilets so we don't have nasty science experiments left in the bowl.
- Sweep the floors
Please ensure that you pay one of the committee your haus fees of K10 per person per night as well.
Next comp is the hotly contested Kokoda Tailoring Jacks to open comp on the 24th April.
As a passing note: South Pacific Air Conditioning will be giving away to a lucky angler an esky at every corporate sponsored comp. BUT it has conditions. A registered angler from every team must be in attendance for the weigh in & presentation for that comp for it to go off.
The committee is currently getting prices together to refurbish the club rooms, we intend to try & get new bar stools, new chairs (that don't go walk about), new telly & DVD player so fishing DVD's can be played during registration & presentation nights. We also would like to paint the walls & do some general cleaning. A notice will go out to members to be asked to give up some weekend time to help out here. I'm sure a few beers could be organized for this event if the helpers are interested.
Till then tight lines & all that crap etc etc.
Captain Jack.
PS. Sorry about the lack of photos but my camera is stuffed.
