Moresby Motor Rewinds Comp Report
: Cockroach Canters to Comp Congratulations
After a couple of months out of the lime light Team Cockroach scuttled out from under the fridge to grab top honours in the Moresby Motor Rewinds Team Points Comp.
The resurgence of the team at the mid-point of the season, after frustrating times with an out of order boat, hi-lights the power of the combined skills of Messrs Sherlock and Tomkinson.
Frank and Kerry DeGraaf grabbed second with Kerry boating a couple of very nice black bass to do all the work on the points total.
Team Viper filled third spot with a swag of trevally, interestingly their largest fish a golden trevally from the mouth of Bakers. It appears that Bakers is a meeting place for odd varieties of trevally. Gary Tomkinson boated a diamond trevally from the same area.
With eleven teams competing, nice to see slim trim Terry Priest back on deck with Wild Turkey, all boats reported back with reasonable catches for the day. Plenty of action along Aivabadina and late in the day a real crowd at Parksies’ Corner, chasing barra perhaps boys and girls.
Bill and Rebecca Tiairoa had their first run down the front courtesy of Terry and discovered a whole new world of fishing spots.
Moapis fished the port side of the main Reach, which certainly looked promising, to release a couple of cod and a cuda. Jason Yip and his guests were seen slipping into the Vanapa mid-afternoon.
Able bodied sponsor Shane Kerr fronted for the presentations and was surprised to find Connie in charge of the proceedings. The shame of it all.
Caught red-handed by Connie arriving at the ramp under paddle power – yours truly.
Just another NAFA folks.
Thanks to Shane Kerr for Moresby Motor Rewinds support for the second year running. Shane has shifted shop and he is now in the Aisi Bishman yard off Gabaka Street.
